Gueret Museum

November 15, 2010 Gueret Museum

En route to Henry’s Mum’s place and near where my folks live, in deepest darkest Limogues is Gueret. A fairly unremarkable, slightly grey, French town, it does boast a museum and art gallery. The highlight of which I would argue is not the fine collection of 12th- to 15th-century enamels, but undoubtedly the end room rammed with glass cases of pinned bugs, scarily stuffed animals and ‘freak’ case containing, two headed sheep, calves and other Gallic anomalies. You’d never guess it was a largely untouched rural community.
