RAVE ON: Kings Cross Laser Tree by Office of Change

December 18, 2013 RAVE ON: Kings Cross Laser Tree by Office of Change

Music: Anthem by N-Joi

“The Kings Cross Laser Christmas Tree is the first of its kind, designed to bring two joyous celebrations together – Rave and Christmas. The tree itself is created by high powered lasers shooting across Regent’s Canal from the Kings Cross Filling Station (KXFS) onto the Midlands Good Shed opposite, drawing a simple Christmas tree. On the hour the tree goes into RAVE MODE, best viewed from KXFS where it is accompanied by a random rave track.

During the nineties and early naughties, Kings Cross was home to some of the capital’s best known clubs; Bagley’s, Cross, Canvas and Shrimpy’s resident artist Donald Urquhart’s left-field Beautiful Bend. The King’s Cross Laser Christmas Tree – a collaboration between Pablo Flack of Office of Change and Urban Electric – knits into the rich cultural heritage of the area.

The King’s Cross Laser Christmas Tree will run from 17:0022:00 every evening from 5 – 23 December and is a joint project between Office of Change and Urban Electric”. Pablo Flack
