This week I made a brief visit to Cannes before the total chaos that is ‘Cannes Lions’ truly took off.
I was fortunate enough to have lunch at the amazing ‘Hotel Du Cap – Eden Roc’ – I was a guest on someone else’s booking, it takes months of planning to get a table here this time of year. Once you get past the army of staff at the gate, the valet parking, the entrance host, and personal security. The short walk through the elegant gardens alongside the cliff side pool, leads you to a simple white dinning room with a view of the bluest sea you have ever seen. I felt like i’d just walked into a classic ‘Davidoff‘ advert.
The army of staff continues to serve whilst somehow remaining invisible, and all the guests myself not included seem to have got the memo to wear white to match the interiors. The Food was simple but beautiful – I think its more about the people watching than your waist line – and the final bill would make anyone blush enough to match the rose’ wine.
If you ever get the opportunity it truly is a once in a lifetime experience.….
And a 40 minute drive away from the madness of Cannes so even better.
