We spent all day yesterday filming at Coworth Park for the Royal Salute sponsored Sentebale Cup. It was not quite the sunny, glamorous occasion we had hoped for but possibly the wettest game of Polo ever played, according to Malcolm Borwick (England polo team but today riding for William’s Tusk Trust team today).
Prince Harry and Prince William / Duke of Cambridge were playing on opposite teams in front of an exclusive invite only crowd that included Neve Campbell, Dougray Scott, Claire Forlani, Ellie Goulding, the Duke of Argyll, Tallulah Harlech, Douglas Booth, Denise Lewis, Prince Seeiso of Lesotho, Toby Kebbell and Sally Hawkins.
Respect due to my hastily purchased classic Barbour Beaufort Jacket which can comfortably hold a 5D in the rear ‘Game pocket’ and kept me completely dry in the cold, wet and wind, however, the circulating glasses of Royal Salute were still greatly appreciated.
A few random behind the scene images:
Rain, Hunter wellies on display (and sadly only available in bright female colours and size 5 on the day), wooden practice ponies, rain, arbitrary speed limits, explosives sniffer dogs, Nicholas Witchell (experience has clearly taught him to dress for rain not Royals), rain and my two tone brogues at the end of the day (dressed for Royals not rain).
